An initiative to simplify the process for awarding the "Veteran of Labor" title to industrial sector workers was put forward by a State Duma deputy. A corresponding request was sent to Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, RIA Novosti reports.
In a comment to the agency, the parliamentarian noted that the current procedure for obtaining the title of "Veteran of Labor" for employees of enterprises under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry and Trade is characterized by excessive bureaucratic complexity.
As the people's representative explained, currently, receiving this award requires successive completion of a multi-stage reward system. First, one must earn the title of "Honorary Metallurgist" or "Honorary Miner." After three years, one can apply for the "Labor Valor" medal. Only then can one obtain the coveted title.
The deputy emphasized that the existing regulations create artificial, temporary obstacles and limit opportunities for timely recognition of the work achievements of many employees. Moreover, in most federal ministries, the procedure for awarding a similar title is significantly simpler than in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the parliamentarian concluded.
